Our Dexter Steers
These are the steers currently being raised at Mountain Heritage Farm, along with completed butcher records from past steers. Before processing, each card shows the animalβs current photo, pedigree, and projected butcher date. Afterward, the card is updated with live weight, hanging weight, packaged meat return, and yield data.
We keep these records because real numbers are far more useful than guesses when youβre deciding whether Dexter beef fits your freezer and your family.
As an aside, we use beef-related names in rotation for our steers that are headed to freezer camp. You'll probably see them repeat with the year appended to the end to differentiate who is who.
