See Live Lactation Data from My Dexter Cows
I weigh every cow’s milk at every milking.
This page shows you exactly who’s in milk right now.
Why I Share Live Lactation Data from My Dexter Cows
I believe the best way to build trust is to be fully transparent about my herd. That’s why I weigh every cow’s milk at every single milking and share the results here. What you’ll see below is live lactation data — an automatically updating snapshot of which of my Dexter cows are currently in milk.
This matters because not all Dexter cows are the same. Some have been bred primarily for beef, while others — like mine — are carefully selected and trained to be reliable family milk cows. By weighing each milking and making the data public, I can show you exactly how much milk each cow is producing today, not just a guess or a sales pitch.
When a cow freshens (gives birth), she’s added to this page and you’ll see her production rise as her lactation begins. When it’s time for her to dry off and rest before the next calf, she’ll disappear from the list automatically. That means this page always reflects the real-time milking roster here at Mountain Heritage Farm.
I don’t know of any other Dexter breeder in the U.S. who goes to this level of transparency. For families who drink raw milk, I believe you deserve to know the names and faces of the cows who provide it — and to see the honest data behind their production.
Below you can meet each of my current milkers, click through to their individual pages, and view their full lactation graphs. This way, you’ll always know exactly where your milk comes from.
